How do I import music to BitDek?

Can I import my music from the Apple Music app?

Yes, the music you own. iTunes Store purchases and downloaded iTunes Match tracks import directly on your device, no computer involved. Lossless files stay lossless. Apple Music subscription songs are protected, so they stay in the Music app. BitDek works with the music you own.

Does BitDek require a subscription?

No. BitDek is free to download and try, with a 30-track limit so you can confirm it works with your library. The full, unlimited version unlocks with a one-time in-app purchase. No subscription, ever — once you unlock it, it's yours.

Can I use BitDek offline?

Yes. BitDek is designed for offline use. Your music is stored locally on your device, so you can listen anywhere without an internet connection.

Does BitDek support external DACs?

Yes. BitDek preserves your audio's native sample rate and bit depth when playing through a USB DAC. No resampling. The built-in equalizer is off by default, and off means untouched lossless passthrough. Connect a wired DAC and your lossless files play at full resolution.

What is gapless playback?

Gapless playback eliminates silence between tracks, essential for live albums, classical music, and concept albums where songs flow continuously into each other. BitDek fully supports gapless playback.

Can I edit metadata and album artwork in BitDek?

Yes. BitDek lets you edit track metadata (title, artist, album, genre, etc.) and album artwork directly in the app. Changes are saved to your files.

Does BitDek work with Apple CarPlay?

Yes. BitDek is a full CarPlay app. Browse your albums, artists, and playlists, see recent listening on the Home tab, and control playback from Now Playing with shuffle and repeat.

How is BitDek different from Apple Music or Spotify?

BitDek plays music files you own, stored locally on your device. There's no streaming, no algorithm deciding what you hear, and no subscription. It's for people who have built their own music collection.

What iOS version does BitDek require?

BitDek requires iOS 26 or later. It's built with SwiftUI and optimized for the latest iOS features.
